Heating Systems: Engineering, Equipment and Installation
A correctly designed heating system is critical for comfort, energy efficiency and operational continuity. Haustech addresses the whole chain together — from heat generation through distribution to hydronic balancing and control.
A heating system consists of generation (boiler or heat pump), distribution (pumps, manifolds, piping), transfer (heat exchangers, terminal units) and control (valves, actuators, thermostats, automation). If any one layer is sized incorrectly the system runs inefficiently even when the others are right. Haustech sizes heating systems as a single whole, supplies the equipment and installs it on site.
Heat generation and thermal plant
Boiler selection is not only a matter of capacity. Part-load behaviour, cascade arrangement, return water temperature and flue design affect annual fuel consumption more than installed capacity does. A cascade arrangement instead of one large boiler can deliver significant part-load savings.
In thermal plant design, correct positioning of the low-loss header, buffer vessel, expansion and safety group and measurement points makes every future intervention easier.
Distribution and hydronic balancing
When some zones of a building overheat while others stay cold, the cause is usually not lack of capacity but unbalanced flow distribution. Balancing valves, differential pressure control and the right pump curve solve this at source.
On manifolds and distribution systems, making every circuit separately measurable and separately isolatable substantially reduces maintenance cost in operation.
The control layer
Ultimately the efficiency of a heating system is set by the quality of its control. Weather-compensated flow temperature, zone-level room control and a correctly selected control valve make a visible difference with the same boiler. We supply Siemens control products for this layer together with engineering support.

Frequently asked
Can I improve efficiency without replacing my boiler?
Often yes. Hydronic imbalance, a fixed high flow temperature, uncontrolled circulation and an incorrect valve characteristic can all be corrected without replacing the boiler and deliver measurable savings. We measure and analyse first, then propose the intervention.
When is a manifold retrofit necessary?
When the number of circuits grows, when capacity changes, when circuits cannot be measured or isolated individually, and when corrosion or leakage appears. A manifold retrofit is usually a short-outage, high-impact intervention.
